Flying

Boys like to fly. The idea of flying and freedom, zooming past the routine, making it look small from the above. The rush. Seeing the plane and imagining yourself being it, flying. With an RC plane it’s even more, you are in control. And with a camera, you are there.

The Last Spring Snow on Tahoe

I love to go to Tahoe for cross-country skiing. And the most poignant days are the last days of snow, in April this year. Tahoe XC posted that the last weekend will be April 13-14, so I went up. I’ve missed March and half April due to life changes. When I got up there they said they’ve extended got one more week, so I skied on Monday and Tuesday as well, at reduced rate. The snow is melting and spring brooks are gurgling, reminding me of springs of my childhood, when my dad took me to Istra river near Moscow. The pine trees in the snow and spring brooks and the sun are signaling the coming of spring. And you can still glide through the woods!

SHACK15

I’ve started going to SHACK15 in February 2024.  Jörg, the owner, used to be the founder of Meltwater, one of the companies at 225 Bush Street where I was the Chief Scientist at Nitro running OSS meetups.  We need an SF Text meetup at Metlwater, the meetup that later became Bay Area AI, the most established independent technical AI meetup in the world.

I plan to share more photos from my world here, to highlight the mood and convey the vibes of the most exciting technology place on Earth. And we’ll focus on technology community stewardship.
